Vol. 6 No. 1 (2025)Symbiotic Edition: Journal of Biological Education and Science, Volume 6, Issue 1, April 2025, presents a diverse collection of scientific studies in the fields of biology and environmental education, reflecting students’ meaningful contributions in addressing contemporary issues through research and literature-based approaches. The featured topics include the antimicrobial efficacy of eco-enzymes against pathogenic bacteria, the effect of soaking treatments on hydrogen cyanide (HCN) levels in cassava skin chips, and the utilization of food waste in biotechnology contexts. Additionally, several literature reviews examine the impacts of climate change on plant phenology, leaf morphological responses to environmental factors, and the potential of medicinal plants in treating central nervous system disorders. Other studies explore innovations in siwalan-based food products, chlorophyll content analysis in vegetables, and the identification of local fruit fly (Drosophila sp.) species. This is the second edition of Symbiotic: Journal of Biological Education and Science. In this edition, it contains articles on the themes of learning biology and biological science. Among others, Afza, et al, who published an article about the effects of Problem Based Learning model with video to improve learning outcomes in the domain of student’s attitude . In addition there are also articles from Putri, et al which contains that the addition of sugar in the fermentation process of Sauerkraut, and there are still other articles.

This is the first edition of Symbiotic: Journal of Biological Education and Science. In this first edition, it contains articles on the themes of learning biology and biological science. Among others, Setiawan, et al, who published an article on Tengger Tribe Knowledge of Wild Plants as a Living Material in the Forest of TNBTS Area. In addition there are also articles from Saifullah, et al which contains the development of textured picture books with crossword puzzles as Biology Learning Media, and there are still other articles.
