Upaya dan Manfaat Pelestarian Sungai Masyarakat Panyabungan Barat Sumatera Utara Berbasis Kearifan Lokal Lubuk Larangan
Abstrak
Preserving rivers is vital for daily activity. This study seeks to investigate the efforts and advantages of environmental preservation utilizing the local wisdom of the lubuk larangan river by the residents of West Panyabungan District, North Sumatra Province. This study uses a qualitative descriptive methodology with a case study design. The data utilized is primary data collected through field observations, in-depth interviews, and focus group discussions. The primary informants included 2 traditional elder, 2 local village officials, 1 lubuk larangan manager, and 7 local community members. The data analysis methods employed consist of data gathering, data condensation, data presentation, and drawing and validating findings. The data validity checking technique involves triangulation of sources and techniques. The research findings indicate that environmental preservation initiatives in lubuk larangan are focused on perpetuating ancestral traditions, collaborating to safeguard local wisdom, and utilizing lubuk larangan practices to conserve the village surroundings. The advantages of environmental protection at lubuk larangan include tangible benefits like revenues from fishing for consumption or sale, also ecological benefits such as preserving river conditions, conserving river life forms, and ensuring natural environmental sustainability. This analysis has implications for developing conservation strategies that prioritize implementing banned holes and encouraging community participation.
